Hot Ginger Chorus

- a chorus for women who enjoy singing four-part a cappella harmony

About us

Take a familiar melody, blend in three parts close harmony, add innovative choreography and glittering costumes. Multiply by 45+ energetic women who are passionate about performing four-part harmony, barbershop-style, and what do you get? The incomparable Hot Ginger Chorus!

Sharing their love of music with over 600 choruses across five continents, Hot Ginger Chorus members, from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles, present the drama, love, and laughter in each song they perform.

Under the leadership of director Paul Coppens, Hot Ginger is the only chorus of its kind on the Sunshine Coast.

The Chorus was founded in 1991 as The Sunshine Coast Harmony Chorus and, in 2009, changed its name to Hot Ginger Chorus to reflect the new direction and attitude of its current members.

Hot Ginger is a member of the Southern Cross Region 34 of Sweet Adelines International. Sweet Adelines International is a highly respected worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance. Singing in Quartets is also encouraged.

Hot Ginger is currently seeking to increase membership and would encourage all prospective women singers to visit a rehearsal. We rehearse every Wednesday evening from 6.45pm to 10pm at the Uniting Church Hall, Lefoes Rd Bli Bli. Visitors are always welcome and membership by audition is open to women of all ages.
